Another successful art weekend at Gamble Creek Studio. Our whole first floor was devoted to our five artists and their exciting, eclectic work.

The Bainbridge Island 2015 Winter Studio Tour
This year was Gamble Creek Studio’s first time participating in this prestigious art event. Dozens of fine artists and artisans from all over the Kitsap county area came together for a fun three days on beautiful Bainbridge Island. The “art tourists” were enthusiastic and dedicated, which added up to a successful weekend for the arts. Gamble Creek Studio is proud that their entry, “White Flow,” was used extensively on promotional materials for the Tour.
Art in the Woods Studio Tour 2015
Once again Gamble Creek Studio on Port Gamble Rd. NE in Poulsbo was privileged to be part of this year’s very successful studio tour. My painting and prints were featured on site in my real studio, as well as award-winning wildlife photographer Bonnie Block, ceramic artist and expert potter Bob Izzi, and Marty Whitaker, creator of lovely nature-inspired jewelry.
We got wonderful community support despite nasty November weather.
Plein Air in Montana
The summer of 2015 was the worst wildfire season in history for the Northwest part of the country. It was also when I had reserved a cabin in the Madison Valley of Montana to focus on plein air painting for the first time in over 20 years. My first few days there were spent in a scenic splendor of dramatic mountains reaching towards brilliant blue skies.
Then the smoke moved in. My focus shifted from celebrating the clear, open vistas of SW Montana to trying to capture the atmospheric effects of massive wildfires, mostly from my home state of Washington. The Montana Smoke series was the result.
Art in the Woods Studio Tour, November 6 – 8th, 2015
“CAFNW invites you to spend the 2nd weekend in November on a unique, self-guided tour of artist’s studios throughout beautiful North Kitsap County. Visit with talented professionals working in a variety of media (see Our Artists). Observe demonstrations in processes such as glass lampwork, raku or etching. The studio sizes range from single-artist working environments to groups of artists in larger venues. The tour is divided into three easy-to-access areas – color-coded on the brochure map. Come, spend a weekend with us and take home memories and treasures.”
Celebrate the Horse exhibit, September 2015
Celebrate the Horse was a collaborative exhibit and fundraiser for Methow Valley Riding Unlimited, a non-profit organization that provides a unique therapeutic riding program called Let’Em Ride. I was very pleased that two of my horse paintings were selected for this exciting exhibit. Washington State’s 2015 wildfire season has been the most severe in history. As an amazing demonstration of resilience and community pride, this exhibit opening was one of Confluence Gallery’s most successful after the town had to evacuate the week earlier due to approaching fires.
“This exhibit will feature the connection between human and horse. Horses have been part of the human story for much of history. They assist us in so many ways……We want to “Celebrate the Horse!”
